On a mass shooter society.

This is something that has to be address across state boundaries. And it's not because the same factors that drive so many of these killers - an absolute bottomless narcissism, a sense of grievance and rage, a quest for fame or infamy, no distinction - are present in the society at large. It not only makes it that much more difficult to address the challenges in front of us, it makes it difficult to even identify these guys in advance. They're just like us, only more so.

Writer Seamus McGraw on mass shootings as an American social disease, weaponized narcissism and victimhood in a county unable to deal with root causes of its problems and his book From a Taller Tower: The Rise of the American Mass Shooter from University of Texas Press.
