Uncovering the power, and promise, of Black and Brown history in America.

989paulortiz

We already have a wall between the US and Mexico, between the US and Latin America, between the US and Africa. Let's face it - the wall is ideological. We have walled ourselves off from the realization that people from the Global South have made these amazing contributions, and we should be grateful.

Historian Paul Ortiz explores the transformative potential of African American and Latinx history - as a tool to understand the mechanisms of capitalism and racial empire in our past and present, and as a path for the future work of building solidarity and reclaiming working class gains eroded by the ruling class and their white-washed version of our history.

Paul is author of An African American and Latinx History of the United States from Beacon Press.
