You see the city on fire: Chileans rise together against neoliberalism's violence.

Some crimes are out on the surface - if people are being kidnapped from their homes, tortured and murdered, with their bodies put in mass graves - that's one type of violence. But it's also violence to deprive the population, bit by bit, of all the things you need to live and thrive and grow as humans. Now we have both types again, and we have to fight against both.

Live from Santiago, organizer Bree Busk reports on Chile's swelling protest wave - as feminists, students and workers across society rebel against the violent, enforced precarity of daily life under neoliberal authoritarianism, the people are reconnecting and rediscovering solidarity and power and joy in self-organization and direct democracy.

Bree wrote the article Chileans stand fearless in the face of repression for ROAR.
