Manufacturing Dissent Since 1996

Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous Bernie: The election's best laid plans.

The Democrat's monkey wrench has evolved, from monkey wrench to hominin wrench, to cave wrench, to giant Claes Oldenburg roadblock wrench. The evolution of the wrench itself is a narrative, or rather a counter-narrative to the one where Hillary Clinton strolls easily from the on-deck circle into the batter's box and hits a home run, bringing every runner home for a White House and down-ballot win.

In a Moment of Truth gang agley, Jeff Dorchen considers the monkeywrenches throw into the works of both political parties this election year, and finds the Bernie shaped one more interesting (and silly) as it challenges the inevitability setting of the Clinton machine, infuriating pre-diminished expectations and true believers alike.
