They're not hiding it at all. In fact, they're sort of taking victory laps with every explosion. They're making it seem just normal that the United States government should be blowing up these boats with no evidence, and I think that is the really insidious part. If it does become to seem unstoppable and normalized, then it would just be not just accepted, but built into the bureaucracy and institutionalized, and that's what we're trying to prevent.

Since 2003, John Walsh has led WOLA’s efforts to promote more humane and effective drug policies, documenting the damage caused by punitive policies and promoting alternatives to the U.S. ‘war on drugs.’ John’s research and advocacy encompass developments within U.S. domestic and foreign policy, countries throughout the Americas, and the UN global drug control system.
