Does the American government have control over Canadian people because it controls the Canadian economy? The Canadian people are not necessarily the same as the people who control the economy. We have an oligarchy problem just like you do in the United States. To a large extent, that is a transnational conspiracy between oligarchs to dictate terms that will work for them.
